Are essential oils safe for pets?

There is a lot of controversy when it comes to essential oil use around pets. Although certain oils "should" be kept away from animals, it is a rule of thumb that diffusing EO's is safe as long as the animal has an area to retreat to if need be. Many EO's can be very beneficial for use with animals to help them with anxiety, gut issues and more.

Are essential oils safe for children?

Essential oils can be extremely beneficial for children. Here are some tips when using them:

- Stay aware from "warmer" oils, as they are more active on the body. Examples of warmer oils include, but are not limited to: cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove.

- Dilute your oils twice as much as if you were applying to yourself. Our blends have a high ratio of oils to carrier, so diluting them further is best for your little ones.

How do I properly care for my candle?

 - Trim wick to 1/4 inch before first burn and ensure the wax melts to the edge of the jar before blowing out.

 - After First burn you can trim wick or pinch off the curled bits of the black (not the entire black portion)

 - If the flame is dimming and seems it might go out, continue burning for 20 more minutes. If low flame persists, blow out candle, wait for wax to harden, re-trim and re-light

 - Do not pour out melted wax as this will cause tunneling and can drown your wick

 - Ensure every burn goes to edge of vessel to minimize tunneling
